Nino Dello Buono‘s multiverse

The MULTIVERSE saga

A multiverse surely doesn’t fit in a single book

«Il Creatore gioca a dadi» is only the first of at least six novels. The others are set before Science meets Red at the start of the first book or between its first and second part, when the Company exists and is growing.

«I see… How do you two know each other, then?»

Red, page 39 of «Il Creatore gioca a dadi»

The first book never explains how Camera met Science or how Science built the portal gun. It’s the first of the questions the next volume will answer.

MULTIVERSE’s future

What’s left to discover

The titles of the next volumes haven’t been announced yet, but something is known about their plots. The covers are just placeholders.

Volume I

Il Creatore gioca a dadi

Red, Science, Camera, the Company and just one week to save the multiverse from the Higgs collapse.

The book Published on July 10th, 2024

Volume II

How is the portal gun made

In the months before meeting Red, Camera visits Science and pushes him to look for a way to travel between universes by explaining how the multiverse works to him. We are in a world where Rome never fell and conquered a far more advanced world than ours in the fields of science and engineering. The novel ends where the story of «Il Creatore gioca a dadi» begins, with Science ringing Red’s doorbell.

Volume III

Three timelines, one tragedy

October 2022. A tragedy strikes a timeline that has mysteriously split off from U45. Red will have to face a series of losses that will lead him down three paths, splitting the timeline into three very different universes. Dust, Shock, and Serif are mentally born from this event.

Volume IV

To improve the world or control it?

Spoiler for «Il Creatore gioca a dadi», the role of universal judge in U10 passes from hand to hand. The line between changing the world for the better and taking control of it is thinner than it seems.

Volume V

Tred’s origins

In one of the infinite possibilities of the multiverse, the experiments of the Cold War era never end. An experiment to achieve immortality goes wrong. Two people are horribly mutated, the rest is called Tred.

Planned

Volume VI

Another story

Yet to be defined. It will take place during the same days as volume III and will tell of an entry into the Company with a hefty dose of hitches and blunders.

Planned

Volume VII

There’s more

The novels mentioned so far won’t be the only ones set in the MULTIVERSE multiverse. There’s always room for a seventh chapter to plan.

When reality catches up with the novel

The MULTIVERSE saga doesn’t try to predict the future, but every now and then the real world comes up with something that looks a lot like an idea from its novels.

Il Creatore gioca a dadiWireless charging

An electric road

In U3945, roads are made of solar panels and cars, all electric, are charged by the road they drive on, as page 179 says, already on page 181 in the first edition. In 2023, Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, tests stretches of road with coils that charge vehicles in a lab. In 2025, for the first time in the United States, a stretch of highway charges an electric truck driving at over 60 mph.

Il Creatore gioca a dadiClassical-quantum supercomputing

Computers the size of a phone

While waiting for the end of the world, the Sciences build small extra computers to support the hybrid quantum supercomputer from page 165, «desktop computers the size of a phone» quoting Shock in page 115. The idea resembles the combination of three NVIDIA products we have only seen recently such as the H200 from 2023, a module that plugs into servers, the DGX Spark from 2025 for desktop supercomputing, and NVQLink from 2025, which connects supercomputers to quantum processors.

Il Creatore gioca a dadiEarth Similarity Index

Artemis, a second Earth

In U21, Proxima b is called Artemis. In that universe, it is a planet like Earth with red jungles because the light of its star is red, according to page 109. On May 21, 2026, a study led by astrophysicist María Rosa Zapatero Osorio finds signs of a magnetic interaction with planets b and d in the activity of Proxima Centauri. It’s a hint that the two have a magnetic field, one of the basic conditions for holding on to an atmosphere like Earth’s.
